DR. DAVE EXPLAINS HOW TO FEEL POSITIVE
Overcoming negative thinking is hard, perhaps the hardest thing you will ever do. Fighting against negativity isn't a stroll in the park; it's a dogfight. But if you decide to join the fray, you can win the battle and drive negativity from your mind. If you want to have a mind free from negativity, nobody can stop you.
Your emotions are a reflection of your thoughts. When you change your thoughts, your emotions automatically change. You don't have to battle the negative and twisted emotions echoing in your mind. Instead, you need to learn how to change the way you think, and emotions will naturally take care of themselves. Like night follows day, when your thoughts are healthy and positive, your emotions become healthy and positive as well.
The challenge you face in eliminating negative thoughts and becoming a positive person is to change the way you think.
How do you change the way you think? Three laws show you how to make it happen.
The Law of Positive Self-Talk states, "You change the way you think and feel by changing what you say when you talk to your mind."
If you want to change the way you feel, you are going to have to change your inner dialogue. You are going to have to talk to your mind in a different manner
The Law of Positive Direction states, "The wheel of change always turns in the direction of what you put into your mind."
You actually push your mind in a positive direction by putting positive and healthy thoughts into your mind. If you put enough positive thoughts into your mind, you can actually create a positive brain.
You are not helpless, and your life is not hopeless. Your life instantly improves the moment you start putting good things into your mind. The simple act of reading these positive words turns the wheel of change in a positive direction, and every paragraph you read makes you into a more positive person.
The Law of Positive Focus states, "A persistently positive focus creates a consistently positive mind."
The battle against negativity is fought on the battlefield of focus. In order to break the back of negative thinking, you will have to learn how to persistently and consistently control the focus of your mind.
Getting rid of negative thinking isn't enough. You need to go to the next level, a much higher level where there is no limit to how good your life can become.
That next level can only happen if you install a positive operating system into your mind.
Simply getting rid of your negative thoughts does not automatically make you positive. Getting rid of the negative only gets you half way to where you want to go. You must install a positive operating system if you want to reach the next level and become a positive person. It's not enough to stop being negative. You need to become a positive person.
You don't need a PhD in psychology or thousands of hours of therapy to win the battle against negativity and to move up to the next level. But you do need to learn some basic facts. You also need an uncomplicated strategy that is easy to use. Finally, you need power. When you know the facts, have an effective strategy, and real power, the odds shift in your favor, and there is a high probability you will win this battle. It's going to be a dogfight, but it's a fight you can win.
You have a choice. You can allow negative thinking to rule your life, or you can reestablish command and control over your thoughts and push your mind in a positive direction.
It's up to you. If you want to have a mind free from negativity, nobody can stop you.
The only way to have a positive mind is to develop a positive focus. The war for a positive mind is fought on the battlefield of focus.
When you focus on positive things, you push your mind in a positive direction, and your life starts to improve. When you focus on your dreams, the direction of your life changes, and your dreams start to come true.
It's impossible to predict how long it will take for a positive focus to do its work. But that doesn't matter. What's important is that if you maintain a positive focus, it's inevitable that you will become a more positive person.
Four Laws of Focus give me the leverage I need to have a consistently positive mind.
First Law of Focus: What I think about expands. When I focus on positive things, I push my mind in a positive direction, my inner voice turns positive, and my life immediately improves.
Second Law of Focus: My mind can think only one thought at a time. When I focus on a thought, it displaces all the others from my mind. When I focus on positive thoughts, negative ones disappear.
Third Law of Focus: Focus is a switch that turns on pictures in my mind. Focus enables me to see my dreams on the motion picture screen of my mind, even before they happen
Fourth Law of Focus: Focus selects the software that I run in my mind. Positive focus turns on positive programs, and my mind switches over to a positive operating system.
A persistently positive focus creates a consistently positive mind.
Your thoughts create your emotions, and when you change the way you think, you also change the way you feel.
The Bible says, "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind." The Bible recognizes that you need a new way of thinking. You must establish a program in which you regularly put positive and healthy thoughts into your mind. God gave you a mind, and He expects you to fill it with good things. Each day your job is to fill your mind with good things. One of the best resources you can use to renew your mind is to use Positive Self-Talk.
You can change the way you think and feel by changing what you say when you talk to your mind.
God designed your mind to work best using a positive operating system. Your mind performs most efficiently when it has a positive operating system. Positive thinking works because it's the natural software for your mind. God made your mind so that it functions best when it's dominated by positive thoughts, and your job is to install a positive operating system.
God's love is the most powerful and most positive force in the universe. When you focus on it and let it into your heart and mind, it changes the way you think and feel, and you receive the power to overcome life's greatest challenges.
When your mind is full of thoughts consistent with God's love, your thoughts are healthy and your mind is exactly the way God means for it to be.
When your heart is full of emotions consistent with his love, your emotions are healthy and your heart is exactly the way God means for it to be.
Feeling positive and having a positive mind isn't rocket science. You don't need to go to university and get a Ph.D. in psychology to have a positive mind. It's easy to have a positive mind if you install a positive operating system and fill your mind with positive things. The hard part is just doing it.
Most people want things to be easy. Instant gratification is the order of the day. Creating a positive mind takes time and effort. It's a way of life, and if you install a positive operating system and fill your mind with positive things, your mood and outlook will shift in a positive direction. You will feel positive.
Learning to be a positive person who thinks positive thoughts, feels positive emotions, and takes positive actions is within the capability of anyone willing to take up the challenge.
Positive emotions are for everyone, not just the privileged few.
If you really want to feel positive, nobody can stop you.

Exit Only dodges Yemeni pirates, fights a gale and sand storms in the Bab al Mandeb at the southern entrance to the Red Sea. The crew explores deserted islands on the western shores of the Red Sea, and learns to check the cruising guides for land mines before venturing ashore.
The Red Sea Chronicles also has outstanding Special Features that include an Instructional Video on Storm Management that tells sailors how to deal with storms at sea.
