Christian ESL - Learn To Speak Positive English
Positive Christian ESL does more than teach
English. It also teaches you how to think like a positive person and
how to swim in God's ocean of love.
Positive Christian ESL has
positive self-talk from Dr. David Abbott's book, Maximum Strength Positive
Thinking. Dr. Dave reads the Christian positive self-talk
out loud, and at the same time, you follow what he is saying by reading the words in
English. Listen to Dr. Dave read a passage,
and then you read the same words to improve your English speaking skills. Practice
your English anytime you want, for as long as you want, simply by clicking
on the play button. You can replay the same passage
thousands of times. Each time you repeat the positive words, your
English improves, and you put positive Christian thoughts into your mind. You
become a more positive person as you learn to speak English.
Not all ESL courses are created equal. Most
courses only teach you how to say new words and construct new sentences.
Positive Christian ESL does much more than that. It teaches you a new
way of thinking so that you become a positive person.
How much does it cost? Absolutely
nothing. It's totally free.
You have nothing to lose and everything to
gain by learning to speak positive English.
To get started, click on the arrow and listen
to Dr. Dave as he reads each positive message. Then, read the
same passage and watch your English improve.

The power and presence of God in the
world is love. Whenever I see love, I see God’s hand at work.
Many people accuse God of creating the world and then abandoning it.
They complain that He is hiding from our eyes. If it’s true that God is
hiding, He is hiding in plain sight. The problem isn’t an invisible
God. It’s eyes that don’t see and ears that don’t hear.
I hear his voice in the sound of laughter and joy. I see the beauty of
God’s pallet painted in the sunset. I see his infinite power in the
billions of galaxies that He created and hurled into space. I feel his
care in the warmth of the sun that shines on my face. I see the twinkle
in his eyes in the stars at night. I see reflections of his power in
the lightning and hear echoes of his power in the thunder. Every time a
baby is born, I know that God hasn’t given up on the human race. I hear
God speak in the silence of the wilderness. I hear God sing in the
songs that He gave to each bird. I feel God’s love in the love that I
have for my own children.
All of these are ways that God speaks to me. Everywhere and at all
times, God is at work in my world. Although He speaks quietly, I can
hear his message of love when I become silent and listen.
Faith isn’t about size. It’s about
stepping out in the direction of my dreams regardless of the
consequences. Jesus said that if I had faith the size of a mustard
seed, I could move mountains. Jesus meant that faith doesn’t come in
small, medium, or large sizes. It’s either present or absent. If it’s
absent, my life is full of limitations, and I go nowhere. If it’s
present, I can move mountains.
I never need to worry if I have enough faith. Any faith at all is
enough to start moving in a positive direction. I will always have
sufficient faith to be the best I can be and do the best I can do. As I
walk on the path to my dreams, I don’t need to see far into the
distance. I only need to see where to take the next step. If I am
faithful in taking the next step, I will eventually reach my dreams.
Faith isn’t magic. Rather, it’s the practical method by which I
make my dreams happen. When I am willing to do whatever it
takes, when I am willing to take the next step, when I am willing to
take the risk and accept the consequences, then I have all the faith I
need to make my dreams come true.
Faith is an attitude that makes it
possible to live my dreams. Faith isn’t something I must have before I
move in the direction of my dreams. Instead, it’s something that
develops after I start moving.
When I start out, I don’t see how my dreams are possible. But the
moment I take my first step, faith instantly comes into my life. Faith
is a way of life, and only happens when I move in a positive direction. I can’t sit in my easy chair and expect faith to suddenly pop into my
mind. I have to start moving in a positive direction before it
happens. Most people get this backwards. They don’t move until they
feel like they have enough faith. Consequently, they never go anywhere
and their dreams never come true.
I have a practical method for increasing my faith. I act as if my
dreams are possible and work each day to make them happen. I act as if
I cannot fail as I move in the direction of my dreams. When I don’t
worry if I have enough faith, my faith does just fine.
Practical faith comes in two types.
The first makes it possible for me to achieve excellence, and the second
makes me into a new person.
Type I Faith empowers me to do the things that I can do and should do
for myself. It gives me the power to be all that I can be. It’s what
makes my dreams possible. When God created me, He placed Type I Faith
inside my heart and mind.
Type II Faith empowers God to do things for me that I can’t do for
myself. I can’t pull myself up by my own spiritual bootstraps. No
matter how hard I try, I can’t be born spiritually without God’s help.
Only God can make my spirit come alive. Type II Faith happens when I
open my heart and mind to God’s love and become one of his children.
For the first time in my life, I dare to call God my Father, and the
power of his love transforms my mind and heals my damaged emotions.
There is no limit to how good my life can become when both types of
faith are active in my heart and mind.
Atheists tell me there is no God and
agnostics are unsure. They challenge me to prove that God exists and
cares about his creation. I tell them to imagine a world without love.
A world without God would be a world without love.
God is still alive and at work in his world. Each day He pours his love
into the human heart and keeps the world from self-destruction. Without
his love, man would only be a creature of instinct and survival of the
fittest would rule. In a loveless world without God, life would not be
worth living.
The most powerful force in the universe is God’s love. E. Stanley Jones
said, “God is love, and works by love, and by nothing else than love.”
The power and presence of God in the world is love. God’s love provides
the healing touch that restores my damaged emotions to full health. I
don’t need more money or more things. High achievement and recognition
for my accomplishments will not heal the hurt that I feel inside. More
than anything else, I need to be transformed by the power of God’s
love. Only his love can heal my life.
I am not alone. I live in a world
created and sustained by love. The Creator of the universe surrounds me
and fills my heart with love. The presence and power of God in my life
is love.
God’s love is unconditional; there is nothing I can do or must do to
earn it. It’s an eternal fact that sustains the world. It forms the
foundation for my self-esteem, and his love makes me worthy. When my
heart is full of God’s love, it’s full of his presence and power. It’s
impossible to have unconditional love in my heart without God putting it
there. Unconditional love isn’t in my chromosomes. Only God can
breathe it into my life.
God loves me and accepts me the way I am, but He loves me too much to
let me stay that way. That is my ultimate reason for hope. God is on
my side. He wants to fill my heart with his love, banish my
limitations, and wash away the plague of negative thoughts from my
mind. God’s love carries away my burden of guilt. His love not only
wipes the slate clean, it also throws the slate away. God has a plan
for my life that is better than anything I can imagine. There is no
limit to how good my life can become when I max out on the power of his
love.
The terrible truth about God’s love is
that there is nothing I can do to earn it. This is hard to accept,
because I live in a performance-oriented society that tells me I have to
pay the price for the good things of life. Everything worth having must
be earned. Everything, except God’s love.
One of the traps of performance-oriented spirituality is attempting to
be worthy of God’s love. I may accept the fact that I cannot earn it,
after all, it’s freely given. Therefore, I will not try. However, I
will do everything possible to be worthy of it. It’s the least I can do
under the circumstances. This is wrong, wrong, wrong. This is a
disguised form of trying to earn God’s love by going through the back
door of being worthy.
There is nothing I can do to earn God’s love or make Him love me more.
God already loves me from the top of my head to the tip of my toes, and
it doesn’t get any better than that. My job is to open my heart and
mind to the power of his love and to pass it on to other people. It’s
that simple. For as long as I live, I must max out on God’s love.
My five senses are eternal skeptics
with both feet firmly planted in the physical world. My senses imprison
me. The five senses that insure my safe passage through the physical
world blind me to the reality of the spiritual one. There is a time to
listen to my senses, and a time to come to my senses.
I must listen to what my spirit has to say. The voice of my spirit
knows who I am. It knows that I am a spiritual being living in a
physical body. I face the challenge of living in the spirit without
denying my body, and living in my body without denying my spiritual
nature. If I satisfy the cravings of my spirit, I find meaning and
fulfillment. If I satisfy only the cravings of my body, I become a
prisoner of the physical world. My spirit is the only part of me that
will endure. What my spirit becomes on its passage through time is what
I will take with me into eternity. I will not ignore my spirit, because
it’s who I really am.
My connection with God is through my spirit. That’s why Jesus said,
“God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit
and in truth.”
Prayer is my ultimate reality check. I
can fool some of the people some of the time, I can fool myself some of
the time, but I cannot fool God. Prayer is the place I go to find out
how I am doing. If I am getting into trouble, I can probably get
straightened out with prayer.
Sometimes I bring unnecessary problems on myself. Many mistakes seem
like a good idea at the time. The way that seems right gets me into
difficulty over and over again. I need a periodic reality check to
avoid the way that seems right, but leads to disaster. Prayer is that
reality check. It clarifies my vision. It’s not asking for a miracle
or trying to make my problems disappear. I pray to discover how things
really are so I don’t fool myself and follow the way that seems right,
but ends in tragedy.
If I pull on a long rope that connects a boat to shore, I don’t pull the
shore to the boat. Instead, I pull the boat to the shore. That is the
way it is with prayer. When I pull on the rope that connects me to God,
I don’t pull God to my way of doing things. I pull myself to his way of
doing things. Prayer is the way I align myself with God’s program for
my life. Prayer doesn’t change God. Prayer changes me.
Affirmations give me the power to
change what is in my heart. Affirmations do more than change the way I
think; they also change the way I feel.
Changing the way I think is relatively easy. It’s merely an exercise in
logic. My rational mind is always open to the power of reason. It
easily swallows watermelon size chunks of truth as long as it’s
logical. I usually need to say an affirmation only once for my rational
mind to buy into it. If the affirmation is logical, my mind accepts it
and files it away without argument.
My emotional mind isn’t so easily convinced. It’s hard to change the
way I feel. I may need to repeat an affirmation fifty times before my
emotional mind accepts it. It’s an eternal skeptic and must be shown
the truth many times before it will believe. That is why affirmations
are so valuable. I can repeat them until I overwhelm the inner skeptic
and change the way I feel.
